Good morning! It’s been a quiet morning so far, and I’m enjoying it thoroughly! Hubby has been playing his video game, the youngest has been playing and watching a bit of t.v. and the oldest is sleeping. I’ve even been able to be productive! I’ve cleaned the kitchen as well as designed a few new things for my Zazzle store!
*NOTE TO SELF - don’t forget you HAVE to go buy little one new snow pants today or she is going to be the only one at school wrapped in saran wrap on the playground!
I have gotten a few new designs done though and that has been great. Some things NOT strictly Christmas.. which has been nice - it is good to look at something other than red or green!

I am feeling so blessed today. A dear friend of mine has been having a horrible week. This past weekend her mother-in-law was hospitalized with problems from her pacemaker. After almost a week in the hospital and a new pacemaker, they got her back home when about 4 hours later, she got a call that her grandfather was in the hospital. They believe it was a mild stroke, thankfully a very mild one. But the stress she must be going through has to be horrible. Yes, I am blessed.
This time of year always comes with it’s own stressers, but sometimes we just have to slow down and think about the things that really matter. Will Joey noticed one less gift in his stocking? Or will be, in the long run, remember how you sat down at the same table with him just to listen to his day. Even if it is for only five minutes - for those five minutes he has your complete attention. I promise - when he is older and wiser - he will remember the time spent - not the $10 throw away toy that he will lose interest in within 15 minutes. Of course, please don’t ask him now - no kid will answer that in the way we want! 
If you do still have some shopping to do though, why not pick a gift that shows you listen, that you care - get them something cutomized - just for them. A one of a kind. What a dreary yucky day! I guess I shouldn’t complain though. I am up here in the Midwest and we have yet to get any snow but they’ve been getting it in Texas for the last few days and NM has enough to open ski runs already. (I have family and friends in both areas) So I’ll count my blessings and be grateful that I didn’t have to put up Christmas decorations in -20 or 6 inches of snow!
On a day like today, there is nothing better than sitting down with a good book, a roaring fire, and a cup of hot chocolate - but since we ARE in the Christmas countdown, if you haven’t taken care of your shopping lists, why not browse the Internet instead of braving the wet and cold?
One of my favorite things about the Holiday season are all of the Holiday parties and getting to reconnect with friends and family that we are usually too busy to see. But everyone knows that you should never go empty handed. So what do you take - that 30 other people haven’t already thought of? Candles? Often over-done. Sweets? How many fruit cakes does anyone want? A bottle of wine? Too blah. But Wait! What if you remove the label from that bottle of wine and add your own special label? Now that kicks it up a notch and shows it wasn’t a last minute thought. It just so happens that I measured a bottle of champagne in our fridge a while back and you know what? The bumper stickers at Zazzle are the exact right size!

And another one bites the dust…. another day that is. I know my youngest is certainly counting the days, she got to open her advent calendar yesterday and already it is the highlight of her day! Oh! And my 3 people left to shop for? Make that two. We were able to get my oldest the iPod Touch 32GB last night. Walmart had it on sale plus we used the new Bing Cashback for an additional 15% off! Woo HOO! Is she going to be one happy camper Christmas morning!
I’m also getting her one of the t-shirts I designed for my shop on Zazzle- though there are actually several that she wants, so who knows maybe Santa will spring for 2 or 3! If you are still looking for ideas, maybe a Photo Album to commemorate this Christmas? I have several in my shop, including some cute ones for Grandma and Grandpa’s First Christmas with the new baby as well as one for newlyweds - Our First Christmas. I do love the design on that one.

The countdown continues… so how many people do you still have left on your list? Thankfully, I am down to the last 3 - and those we know what we are doing just haven’t gotten it quite done yet and no - I can’t beleive it. I NEVER have my shopping done this early, it’s only December 1st for goodness sake! But somehow it has all come together this year. It does help that several people on my list are getting big ticket items that various members of the family are ‘going in on,’ so we had to organize that stuff early. My decorations are all up, the tree is lit, all that’s left is the wrapping and some stocking stuffers!
